President Obama Will host South By South Lawn (#SXSL): A White House Festival of Idea, Art, and Action Monday October 3, 2016
I’ve been attending and speaking at SXSW in Austin,TX for seven out of the past eight years. The 2016 SXSW was special. Both President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended and spoke on panels and a fireside chat. I had the opportunity to see the President Obama fireside chat in person during the SXSW this year.
When the White House announced the South By South Lawn (SXSL) festival on Twitter, I immediately shared it and was dreaming I would have the opportunity to attend. A couple of hours later I received an invitation to RSVP for the first ever South By South Lawn #SXSL at the White House.
To say I’m excited to attend SXSL is an understatement! This event has a lot of sentinel mental and culture reasons to attend. Such as President Obama’s term is almost finished ?, it’s the first SXSL and it’s on the White House lawns. As a geek, a SXSW “OG” it’s an honor to participate in the event.
I’ll be representing the Change Catalyst Team and the work we’re doing to create the tech ecosystem more inclusive with the Tech Inclusion Conference.
