Engineers Week was created to connect students from disparate engineering departments, showcase the achievements of our 62+ student organizations, and highlight UC Berkeley’s commitment to promoting diversity and emotional engagement on campus.
We are pleased to announce we have partnered with Tequity, a newly established student organization focused on outreach and minority inclusion, to launch Fireside 2020. In five years time, by 2020, our big, audacious goal is to match 200 students from underrepresented and minority backgrounds with mentors to help connect them to a full-time job or paid internship — seeking to bridge the gap in the tech workforce.
