Twitter for Mac launches with the Mac App Store – Screenshots

Mac App Store

If you are a Twitter user and an Apple fanboy, today is like Christmas for you. Apple released the much anticipated Mac App Store with 1000 applications and Twitter for the Mac was included. Twitter for Mac perviously known as Tweetie was acquired by Twitter in 2010 and many speculated if or when Atebits would update the mac version.

The new Twitter for Mac app comes with new black icon and a lot of roundness. Take a look.

Twitter for Mac

Announcement from Twitter:

This app gives Twitter users another fast and convenient way to stay connected to what they care about the most. Tweets appear in real-time (using our streaming API), and the app auto-shortens URLs and has lots of useful keyboard shortcuts.

The app is also three times faster than its original version that was previously called Tweetie for Mac.

If you’re not familiar with Tweetie aka Twitter for Mac 1.0 here’s a side by side comparison.

Tweetie vs Twitter for Mac

There are not a lot of settings for Twitter for Mac. You can add multiple accounts, pick an image service and set your desktop notifications.

Is Osfoora HD the best Twitter iPad App? Screenshots

There are over 15 Twitter iPad apps in Apple’s iTunes app store and the list is growing weekly. Recently at a conference, I was sitting at a table with four of my friends who all had iPads and the “what Twitter iPad app do you use” question was asked and all four said Osfoora HD (http://osfoora.com).
