Cleveland responds! LeBron James Nike Rise Commercial vs Cleveland’s What should you do Response
Cleveland responds in a big way. Is LeBron James a quitter, traitor or a backstabber ? Did LeBron James quit in game five while playing Boston in the NBA playoffs last year? Some members of Cleveland, Ohio thinks so with their new quitness response video released today.
Just when you thought that maybe that the city of Cleveland has moved on after LeBron James decided to host the decision show and leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat a new YouTube video shows they’re still upset. This comes after LeBron’s Nike Rise Commercial and during a recent interview where King James said he would do things a little different if could do it all over again. Maybe it’s the Cleveland Cavaliers 1-3 start or it’s just the Nike Rise commercial where LeBron James is asking the question “What should I do?” But in the response video called Lebron James “Rise” Commercial & Cleveland’s Response a few Cleveland residents has some answers to LeBron question and to what he should have done.
The video is a mashup of the Nike Rise commercial with some very harsh words for LeBron calling him a quitter, traitor and a back stabber, ending with a quitness upside down Nike Logo and the statement playing from LeBron saying that his goal was to bring a NBA championship to Cleveland. All I have to say is Ouch! You can watch both videos below.

YouTube just gave the city of Cleveland and old fans a voice. Now, what should LeBron James do?

LeBron James joins Twitter but skips social media to make his decision announcement for ESPN
Yes another LeBron James twitter decision post but I’ll promise to keep it short. Over the weekend I wrote a post about how the Tornoto Raptors @Raptors were upset about some of @ChrisBosh tweets and how it could cost him millions. In the post I also stated how it would be nice if LeBron James joined @Twitter and tweeted his decision announcement instead of a traditional TV/media press event.
Well fast forward two days and LeBron James has officially joined Twitter as @KingJames thanks to his friend Chris Paul who tweets as @oneandonlycp3. I was a little surprised and was hopefully thinking that @KingJames would tweet his decision just so I could say I called it but but LeBron being the business man that he is, decided to call his friends at @ESPN to host a special show on Thursday to announce if he is going to re-sign with the Cleveland @cavs or another team such as the Chicago Bulls @chicagobulls or New York Knicks @thenyknicks or the NJ Nets @netsbasketball. I’m guessing it has to be either @netsbasketball or @thenyknicks because I don’t think LeBron would have a special event if he was just going to re-sign with the @cavs. But the entire @cavs organization has gone @twitter crazy with @CavalierGirls and @CavsScreamTeam accounts, so you never know.
Although LeBron has decided not to tweet his decision, @ajv over at vaynermedia.com thinks it would be cool if LeBron followed the team on twitter to make his announcement. I’m sure @Garyvee and team would love it if @kingjames joined @netsbasketball being that @netsbasketball is a client of @vaynermedia.
Check http://bit.ly/apxlxx (lebronjames.com) for updated info on my decision.
One tweet that LeBron did send to his followers was to visit his website ( http://lebronjames.com ) for updates, which is something I did suggest. Although using @Twitter for making announcements sounds great and it’s a big deal for @Twitter to have @KingJames tweeting at this time in his career. LeBron decided that he could use his brand and ESPN to make his decision and raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Now my question is, even though working with ESPN and their sponsors may have been the easiest way to accomplish this for camp LeBron, couldn’t they have used social media to host a one hour decision show too? Think about it, a live video show with guest and kids from his camp, have people to call or text to raise money and at the end of the show LeBron would make his announcement. Also we could see LeBron actually tweeting from the live show. Just a thought….
What are your thoughts on the LeBron decision TV show idea vs him using social media to make his announcement? Are you ready for him to pick just a team already?

Social Media Conversations report from @CrimsonHexagon of the Duke vs UNC game Tweets
Here’s the last report from the #Duke vs #UNC Social Media Challenge. This report is provided by Crimson Hexagon. Crimson Hexagon has a VoxTrot listening platform that provides companies with actionable insight into consumer opinion of their brand, product, or market.” VoxTrot technology can identify opinion from large quantities of text, whether it’s an in-house content repository or the vast blogosphere.” - http://www.crimsonhexagon.com
Here are the results:
We knew ScoutLabs and Sysomos would provide plenty of data on volume. We wanted to tell you something new. We analyzed almost 10,000 tweets from Feb. 10th and Feb. 11th that contained either Duke or UNC (with or without the hashtag).
By our tally, Duke won the online contest (in addition to the game), with 22% of Twitter conversation expressing support for the Blue Devils. Since Opinion Monitors don’t use keywords to make this determination, Cameron Crazies who tweeted their distaste for the Heels without mentioning Duke by name can rest assured that we captured their support as well.
Our analysis also uncovered some unrest among those who bleed Carolina Blue. While 10% of tweets backed the Tar Heels, an additional 7% expressed frustration at UNC’s fast fall from glory. Coach Roy Williams’ comment about Haiti certainly didn’t help matters – 5% of tweets expressed disbelief at his remarks.
In addition to measuring the “interesting” conversation, it is worth pointing out that Crimson Hexagon also identifies the boring bits of Twitter with equal precision. All those tweets (47%) that contained the words Duke or UNC without referencing the game make up the irrelevant conversation, while boring tweets about the final score or straightforward “I’m watching the game” messages are classified appropriately as facts (9%).
From Crimson Hexagon’s point of view, there’s more than volume to the final score.
A big thanks to Crimson Hexagon/ Megan and the entire team for the impressive report even thoughs it shows another lost for UNC. You can follow @crimsonhexagon on twitter or visit their web site: http://Crimsonhexagon.com for more information about their social media analytics platform.

The @Sysomos results are in from the #Duke vs #UNC Social Media Challenge
Yesterday was the big game between Duke and UNC and I’m sure you know by now that Duke won the game and I lost a Twitter bet. Just take a look at my Twitter background to see ugly Duke icons everywhere. It’s a sad day as a UNC fan but lets see how well did UNC fans do in the “Social Media Challenge”. The challenge was basically to see which team had more conversions on Twitter and other social web outlets. To measure the results I reached out to Scout Labs, and Sysomos to provide the data. Also Crimson Hexagon sent me an email about helping out too. So not only are we looking at a Duke vs. UNC social web report but a comparison of social media analytics platforms. Sysomos provides customers with the tools to measure, monitor, understand and engage with the social media landscape. http://sysomos.com
Here are the results:
A Sysomos comparison of activity using the query terms: “Tar Heels” AND (“UNC” OR “NC” OR “North Carolina”) and “Duke” AND (“Blue Devils” OR “Devils”).

A Sysomos comparison of activity using the query terms: “#duke OR (duke AND vs) OR (duke AND unc) OR (duke AND (fan OR fans))
OR (duke AND game) “#unc OR (unc AND vs) OR (duke AND unc) OR (unc AND (fan OR fans)) OR (unc AND game) ”

There were 26,947 tweets that used #duke, and 14,982 tweets that used #unc.
For overall social media sentiment:
For: “Tar Heels” AND (“UNC” OR “NC” OR “North Carolina”) was 18% positive, 25% neutral and 57% negative.
For “Duke” AND (“blue devils” OR “devils”), it was 11% positive, 23% negative and 66% negative.
So it looks like UNC lost the Social Media Challenge from Sysomos too but more negative reactions around Duke.
Are Duke fans more negative than UNC fans?
