As the Ford Racing/Product team drove closer to reaching 1000 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR driver David Ragan joined the team to drive the Ford Mustang V-6 as it crosses the finish line on the 1000 lap mark. Before reaching the 1000 lap mark I had a chance to ride along with David for a few laps and discuss the Mustang 1000 lap challenge, tweeting, racing and using social media to engage with fan. Also I asked a question from NC friend @deirdrereid who submitted her question via @Twitter. Take a look at her question and the video below.

Susan Pollack on using Social Media for the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge #mustang1k

Susan Pollack, of PCGCamble has been leading the charge in managing public relations and social media for the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge. For the challenge they launched a new website https://www.mustang1000lapchallenge.com and used Twitter, flickr, Facebook and YouTube to not only promote the challenge but generator over 51,000 contest entries for a chance to win a Mustang V6. Along with using youtube videos of NASCAR drivers promoting the event,  Susan’s team have been using social media about the on going activities at Bristol Motor Speedway. Video: Driving a 2011 Mustang V-6 on Bristol Motor Speedway #Mustang1k

Yesterday while attending the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge test driving event, I had the opportunity to drive a 2011 Mustang V-6 on Bristol Motor Speedway. It was one of those “dream come true” moments as I’ve always thought about being a NASCAR diver. Even though I was driving at Bristol going fast wasn’t the main goal of the drive.

If you’re a Ford Mustang fan you have to enjoy the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge at Bristol Motor Speedway. If you’re looking to buy a new 2011 Mustang you also have to be excited about the miles per gallon it has with the horsepower. The 2011 Mustang is advertised to get 31 MPG with a horsepower of 305. Check out an under the hood look from Tom Barnes and Tim Duerr as they talk about the car and the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge .
