Video: The iPad Orchestra, classical music embraces tech

First there was the ipad + “Eye of the Tiger” music video preformed with the iPad and now we have the iPad Orchestra. The iPad Orchestra video features four musicians representing the Clarinet, Cello, Flute, and Violin which they are playing via the iPad and their awesome T-Shirts. They’re playing “Sweet Dream” performed live for an audience on August 20, 2010 composed by Ilya Plavunov. Take a look.

As I stated in the iPad Eye of the Tiger video post, how amazing it would be if artist could use the iPad to preform shows instead if traditional music equipment. Well, it seems like that time has come and we’re only seeing the beginning of the iPad + live performances. Actually before the iPad Eye of the Tiger there was the iPad DJ.

If you missed the ipad + “Eye of the Tiger” music video check it out below.

Thanks to Mike who sent me the iPad Orchestra video.

Would you rather see a live show with traditional music equipment or with the iPad or it doesn’t matter just as long as they sound awesome?

Video: New Apple iPad app commercial shows Twitter but wait, there’s no official Twitter iPad app released yet

Take a look at the new Apple iPad is Delicious commercial below. It shows a variety of new and old iPad apps. Flipboard is featured along with a variety of other apps showing iPad gaming, drawing, and calculating capabilities. If you look at the 19 seconds mark it shows the Twitter “website” then the words friendly. The only problem is there is no official Twitter iPad app yet. I know the video wasn’t necessarily about Twitter but it seem to be about iPad apps. Was it that important to show the iPad “tweeting” even though there is no official Twitter iPad app available yet? #justsayin

Your thoughts?

Video: i(Pad) of the Tiger: An iPad music video

When something is awesome you just have to post it right? Hat tip to Mike Schramm @mikeschramm of TUAW for posting the i(iPad) of the Tiger music video. According to the post we don’t know what apps the band used but those are three iPads being played in the video. Now we can say that Apple will kill music instruments! Joke! But still, think about how much equipment bands travel with and what if they could use a few iPads and have the same or better quality when preforming. Apple could change the offline music industry in an entire new way. Don’t believe me? Just watch the music Video: i(Pad) of the Tiger: An iPad music video below.

ipad + “Eye of the Tiger” from Jordan Hollender on Vimeo.

Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.
All instruments were played using ipad applications downloaded from itunes.
Scott Harris – musical production and arrangement
Starring Scott Harris, Harold O’Neal AKA Kid Jazz and Shea Butta
Directed by Jordan Hollender in collaboration with Diane Collins and Zbabam Productions

Richard Bell / Jon Vachon: Gaffer / Grip

Do you think we’ll see more bands use iPads for music videos and preforming at shows?

As Apple’s iPad awaits the official Twitter for iPad app, 6 more Twitter iPad apps look to cash in. Screenshots

It has been a month or so since @Twitter has released the official Twitter app for the iPhone and iPad users are left still waiting for an update. In the mean time other Twitter iPad app developers have released a few worthy Twitter iPad apps and if you search the iTunes app store for Twitter or tweets you’ll see around 15 plus apps. Also a few weeks ago I wrote a post called “Top 4 Twitter apps for the iPad :http://socialwayne.com/2010/04/21/top-4-twitter-apps-for-the-ipad-which-one-do-you-use/ ” Stating at the time, out of the four twitterrific was the best. Here’s a list of six more Twitter iPad apps with screenshots.

1. Osfoora HD

2. Tweets

3. Echofon for iPad

4. TwitRocker

5. TwitBird

6. TweetTime

Out of the six Twitter iPad apps above my favorite is between TweetTime or Osfoora which is only $0.99 vs $7.99 for Tweets.

I’m not sure what is taking so long for the official Twitter iPad app to be released. Maybe they’re waiting for the new iOS4 for the iPad to come out. Regardless there are plenty Twitter iPad apps to choose from.

Out of the Twitter iPad apps above which one do you use or have used before?

Which Twitter iPad app do you use now?
