Dell Commercial At SXSW 2011 Starring Baratunde
During SXSW 2011, a group of friends recorded a Dell Commercial at the Hilton, Austin for the Dell Vostro V130 staring Baratunde Of The Onion. Take a look.
This is the Dell Vostro V130. There was no tiger blood involved although it in the making of this video commercial. This is a great laptop that will make you stylish, professional and on point at work and in the boardroom.
While settling in for the evening at the Hilton Hotel the night before SXSW, the following crew of creative tech folks put together this video: @baratunde @waynesutton @hajjflemings @robertmurray @amoyal @adriarichards @drgoddess

SXSW – Addieu makes it easy to connect on all social networks with people you meet
Yes, I’m already in Austin, TX for SXSW interactive 2011 and extremely excited about conference this year while feeling a bit overwhelmed at the same time. Prior to SXSW I’ve been thinking about my blog/content strategy and/or how I plan to cover the event. This is my third year attending SXSW and the first two years I did a lot of podcasting, interviewing, live streaming and live blogging sessions but for 2011 I think I”m going to have a simpler approach and write about various people and startups I meet during the conference.
As for day one, I ran into an old friend Damien Basile @DB on twitter who just launched his new startup with Brian Papa, called Addieu.
Addieu is an all-in-one solution to help you avoid business card overdose. It does this by allowing you to exchange contact information and connect you & the person you’re meeting on all your social networks at once, quickly, easily & reliably.
Some notable features:
+ Easily connect on Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare
+ Automatically adds new people to your Contacts app
+ Uses your Foursquare checkins and shouts to remember where you’ve met somebody.
+ Seamlessly add people to Twitter lists, including creating new ones on the fly.
+ No username and password.
+ Your address book entry is your login.
+ Browse your connection history.
+ Email and text a contact right from Addieu.
+ Unable to connect to the Internet? Addieu works over Bluetooth!
After hearing the Addieu pitch from DB I downloaded the app and now my SXSW plan is to use Addieu to exchange contact information. If you have an iPhone you can download Addieu here [iTunes] link.
If you’re at SXSW and would like for me to cover your startup, feel free to text or message me at 919-816-2230 so we can schedule a meeting time.
If you’re using or just downloaded Addieu let me know about your experience in the comments.

My iPhone SXSW group messaging / group texting app plans
There’s a secret “SXSW facebook group” that I belong to and most of the conversation so far is about the parties and which apps to use to keep track of everything during SXSW interactive. Too much is happening this year and there’s no way to stay up-to-date with everything. You’re going to miss some parties, some panels, some meetups and some people. But with this year’s hot startup app topic group messaging / group texting apps they’re all hoping you’ll not miss anything by messaging your friends during the conference. This also means some of the best conversations may happen offline on mobile devices vs being on twitter or facebook.
With that being said here’s my unofficial iPhone SXSW group messaging /group texting app plans that I posted in the “secret SXSW facebook group” I’m going to check into the hotel room and have a hurricaneparty, invite a fastsociety to kik it in a beluga pod, then yobongo to nearby friends that will turn into a messageparty where you can groupme and yell HeyTell in Pingchat … see you in Austin!
Just kidding, but if you want to reach me during SXSW interactive just call or text (prefer text) at 919-816-2230.

Podcast: Enchantment book interview with Guy Kawasaki
Last week I had the opportunity to interview former chief evangelist of Apple and co-founder of Alltop.com, Guy Kawasaki about his new book available today called Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions.
About Enchantment:
Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions is Guy’s tenth book. In it, he explains how to influence what people will do while maintaining the highest standards of ethics.
The book explains when and why enchantment is necessary and then the pillars of enchantment: likability, trustworthiness, and a great cause.
The next topics are launching, overcoming resistance, making enchantment endure, and using technology. There are even special chapters dedicated to enchanting your employees and your boss.
Finally, because there are times you may want to resist enchantment, there’s even a chapter about how to do this too
