Cartoon – Maybe Yahoo wanted to load-test the new Delicious export feature

infographics Technology

I’m sure by now you have read the news about Yahoo’s PR nightmare surrouding the social booking marketing site Delicious. It was first leaked that Yahoo was going to shut down the Delicious down then Yahoo/Delicious posted the “What’s Next for Delicious?” message saying they changed their mind. Hm

Regardless Rob Cottingham of Noise to Signal posted a funny cartoon saying maybe Yahoo was justing looking for a good way to get people to test their new Delicious export feature.

FYI if you’re looking for a Delicious alternative, read 6 Solid Alternatives to Delicious via TheNextWeb. Personally I use DIigo for social bookmarking.

Thanks for sharing the cartoon with your readers, Wayne! I drew it when I was feeling pretty bleak about Delicious’s future; today, I’m hoping it may actually find a home where it’s appreciated (and further developed, and – what they hey – monetized).

No problem Rob. I think a lot of Delicious users felt the same way. Same here, I hope someone buys Delicious soon or why not open source the site!

    Hi Wayne,

The news about Delicious is very unfortunate but this now allows Delicious users to shop other bookmarking alternatives. There are many out there that offer great features. I am commenting on behalf of Symbaloo. Symbaloo is a great alternative because it is visual and users are able to tag, share and publish their favorite bookmarks. Published “webmixes” (a collection of bookmarks) are also indexed in Google. More reasons to try Symbaloo: http://bit.ly/i2ecgJ
