Breaking News: I’m going to be a daddy blogger! cc: @LaToyaMsutton

LaToya M. Sutton (@LaToyamSutton) and I have been married for 5 years and 33 days as of today and we’re please too announce that we’re having our first child. If you would ask both of our parents it’s 5 years too late. Regardless, I’ve always been afraid to bring a child into this crazy world and as many of you know, I’ve traveling like crazy over the past 2yrs. But now with the support of LaToya who’s not only been a great wife but an awesome friend we’re ready to venture down the road of becoming parents.

As of right now, I’m still in shock and aww. I’m scared, I’m nervous, yet excited to be father but already thinking about all the geek opportunities there will be to raise a child in this new digital age. Here’s a little F.A.Q. if you have any questions:

  • LaToya is 30, and I’m 35
  • This is our first child for the both of us
  • LaToya is a few months pregnant
  • We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet
  • We don’t have a name for the baby yet, but for now it’s baby Sutton
  • Do I want a Wayne Sutton Jr? No!
  • I’m not creating a twitter account or buying a domain name until we name the baby
  • Yes, there will be a baby blog once have a name.
  • Two possible goals I have for the child: #1 have their own web startup by age 7 and/or #2 become a NASCAR driver :)
  • Have we told all of our family members? No, just our parents and siblings. This will be a first time hearing it for some. Better than FaceTime… right?
  • I’m just praying for a health baby and a safe delivery.

Thank you LaToya Sutton for venturing down the path of marriage and now parenthood with me. I know you’re going to be a great mother, Love you!. To my family, friends and partners thanks for the support and the next few months are going to be crazy but bare with me. I’m going to be a daddy Blogger!

    Wayne this is wonderful news… I still remember when I became a first time father on 1/28/2002 it's a great feeling, at first yeah you are a little scared cause there is no book on how to be a father, but as you settle in it becomes second nature. Man the best is yet to come, to rasie a child is pure joy and with God's help you, your wife, and family will enjoy all the fruits that will come of this wonderful occasion and experience.

    Two things I learned the hard way: 1) When people tell you “get your sleep now! Har-har-har!” they aren't joking. I honestly thought that was total BS, but 13 months later, they were all right. 2) Make sure you have your iPhone/Video Camera/Digital Camera charger with you in the hospital bag. I had my DSLR battery go flat shortly after my daughter was born.

    Wow. It's all about to change. But in a good way. LaToya and Wayne congratulations. I am so happy for you both and I know you are excited. You'll look at the world in a whole new way after this. You should prepare as best you can and be ready for lots of surprises too. I hope and pray for the good health of your child and you both as well. So glad that you have a 7 year plan Wayne, but be ready for the unexpected. Kids tend to have a mind of their own. Parent recommendations: Be patient, be kind, be nice, be flexible, be relaxed, be understanding and be selfless. It takes two to make a thing go right. It takes two to make it outta sight. You both have what it takes. Just trust in yourself and lean on your family and the rest will fall into place. Can't wait to talk about it soon.
