Geo-Location marketing

A big part of location-based marketing is not what you do online but what you do offline. With that being said at @TriOut we ordered some window clings/stickers for businesses to encourage their customers to check-in with TriOut so they can take advantage of any location-based check-in specials.

We have a few businesses who said they would like a TriOut window cling but now that we have them, I’m wondering who will be the first.

If your businesses would like one email us at contact@trioutnc.com. Also you can sign-up to use our business platform at http://trioutnc.com/business .

  • No one cares about check in's!

Why would someone want these when this company is a straight rip off of Foursquare? Why not just go and use Foursquare? There user base is what, a 10,000 bigger then yours?

  • Just horrible!

I hate companies that can't innovate! No unique thoughts or ideas? So, you just rip off others? Please come up with something original!!

#1 stand up and put your real name!
#2 there were a lot of location-based services before foursquare and we are NOT a rip of Foursquare or any other location-based company.
#3 We are hyper-local and if you really understood location-based services its really about hyper-local and working with business directly, something we can do
#4 A lot of people in our community are still new to lcoation-based service and don't even know what foursquare is, therefor we have an opportunity
    #5 thanks for the comment.
    #6 I smell hateorade

  • http://wayne-sutton.com Wayne Sutton

Innovate? Do you understand marketing? What do you want us to do, put a neon sign on the moon and say check-in here! That's new, right?

Some new ideas won't work for OUR target audiences. This is for store front businesses. Got any bright ideas that OUR target customers are willing to do? Maybe a free RFID chip for them to give to their customers to swallow so when they walk in the door they automatic get sent a radio wave to the cash register to collect a free cup of coffee and don't pass go! Original enough for you?

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Just horrible!

    1. it doesn't matter my name. the comments still stand and hold weight to be truthful!
    2. REALLY? Why did you not show up earlier with this great innovation?
    3. Please don't make me laugh. Hyper local? So is every other LBS! Still waiting on what is so original here with Triout. Anything?
    4. I am sure if they have some how heard of Triout they have heard of Foursquare. Please don't start spreading the fact you think you users are dumb and not informed!
    5. Your welcome.
    6. Just drank a big glass, the new flavor is “I smell nothing original here”!

Question? Was Google the first search engine when they launched? Nope! What about Facebook, the first social network? Nope.

Enjoy your rants and comments. Excuses me why I have a successful startup to run.

    I'm done.

Kathleen Mongero has claimed the first one for The Morrisville Deli!

I want one for my car!

  • http://wayne-sutton.com Wayne Sutton

Nice, I'll have one for you Ginny!

  • GinnySkal

And, to be honest, Foursquare's user interface sucks compared to Triout. I'm still using Location Based Services Sparingly, but I know from trying several out that Triout and Gowalla are way more user friendly than Foursqure. Lame dude/hatorade above needs to chill out. I smell jealousy. Keep rockin' it, Wayne!

I want to chime in on the hate/flame war… am I too late?

So I use (or have used) BrightKite, Foursquare, Loopt, Gowalla, Foursquare and TriOut. They all have their good aspects and their bad.

I only use 2 now. Tri-Out and Foursquare. I use them because they are the two that work best for me. That doesn't mean the guys at the others are losers, it just means they don't work for me… the same way ask.com doesn't work for me as a search engine.

My last thing is that I know for a fact that 2 people (or groups of people) can actually have similar ideas at almost the same idea because of events taking place in their industry. It doesn't mean anyone is ripping anyone else off. Innovations happen most often when people see a need for a solution – often it's just a handful of people at first that even notice the need for a solution, but once the pool gets big enough and lots of smart people see what's happening, it's actually more normal for smart people to come up with similar ideas.

    Just my 2 cents.

Hold on while I add socialwayne.com to TriOut

  • http://wayne-sutton.com Wayne Sutton

Lol, that's a good $1.00 out of your 2cents. So true and thanks!
