Gowalla releases new iPad app; sometimes bigger does mean better: screenshots

Just in time for the Apple iPad 3G version to be on sale this Friday, Gowalla releases a new version of their popular location-based app.

Notes from @JW blog Gowalla’s Blog post: http://gowalla.com/blog/2010/04/gowalla-for-ipad/
Upon launching Gowalla for iPad, you’ll still see a feed of your friends’ activity, but an additional map view will now show where they are in relation to you. Similarly, you can view popular locations nearby on the updated Spots view, but can also zoom out and move the map to see spots anywhere in the world. Tap on a spot to bring up more information, including photographs taken and comments left there. It’s a fun way to plan a trip or to simply see the world through a friend’s eyes.

Please note that Gowalla for the iPad works great on non the 3G version of the iPad. Also the iPad version looks just as awesome or even better than the iPhone version. Congrats to Josh and the Gowalla team.

I hope we’ll see the other 17+ location-based apps either update or release new versions of their app for the iPad too and soon.
If you have downloaded Gowalla for the iPad what do you like the most about it?
What other location-based app do you think we’ll see release an iPad version next?
